Online Quizzes are Fun

So I took some online quizzes today. And, if I were a video game character I'd be Lara Croft. Hooray! And, if I were a Marvel heroine I'd be Jean Gray. Also hooray!

Oh those Brits

The Brits are quite amusing I must say. Fergie posed naked for charity and so Kate Winslet remarked that she would love to pose naked for charity. So, the Sun tried to oblige her by posting nude photos of her from her movies. Anyway, the article is funny, but there are some boob shots, so if you're offended, don't look at them. ;)

New Superman Announced

And, it's not Jake Gyllenhaal like the rumors had said. Instead, it's this relatively unknown actor named Brandon Routh. Well, the good news is, he does kinda look like Superman. But, the bad news is he's not Dean Cain. :( And we all know what that means...no Teri Hatcher!

Hearing the announcement makes me realize I'm older than I thought. You know you're getting older when the actors cast as superheroes are about your age. I guess that means I'd better hurry up with my quest for superpowers.

Crazy Relativity

So, more evidence has come in supporting Einstein's Theory of Relativity and its implications. I must say, that Einstein kid is a smart one. He's going places. ;) But seriously, Einstein's a super-smart guy. And yet, he needed grad students to walk him home because he couldn't remember where his house was. Perhaps it is true that there is only so much room up there. So, if I'm a clutz then it must be because I need brain space for things other than basic motor functions...yeah, that's it...

Ooohhh...I want one!

I was talking to Nikhil today about iPods. I hadn't wanted one previously, because I like CDs and things like CD jackets and cover art associated with music in this form. Anyway, he mentioned that there was a new U2 ipod coming out with the new album preloaded. It's pretty and black and has U2 music on it. Now, I really want one. I just wouldn't be a loyal fan if I didn't buy one...

Hooray for Angelina

Angelina's been named (by Esquire Magazine) the Sexiest Woman Alive. Um...duh. Seriously now, was there ever any doubt? If only I were a lesbian...*sigh*

Speaking of lesbians, for some reason Chris and I were talking about situations in which you'd have to break up. You know like "would you still love me if I had no legs and had syphillus?" So, Chris tells me that if I were a guy, he's have to break up with me. To counter, I shot back "Well I wouldn't love you if you were a girl." Chris just blinks, looks at me for a little while and says, "Yes you would." Shesh, I never win...

Happiest girl in the world

Chris came to visit me this weekend. So, I'm the happiest girl ever. We had dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Baltimore with Kennon and Liz. Hooray for steak! Saturday we went down to the Inner Harbor and had dinner with Emily and her boyfriend. Sunday we had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. Is it bad that I measure time by dinners? Reminds me of The Lovesong of J. Alfred Prufrock "I have measured out my life in coffee spoons."

Anyway, I drove Chris to the airport today. Yes, I'm sad he's gone, but for now I'm still excited because I got to see him at all. Only a little over a month until Thanksgiving. I can hardly wait.

My future in advertising

James Earl Jones is doing Verizon internet commercials. I find them quite convincing and if I didn't have school-provided internet, I'd look into it. However, I think they should still change the commercials...perhaps he could end them with "Buy it...because Darth Vader says so."

Ode to Law and Order

Oh how I love Law and Order. If I didn't dislike the work week because of the work Weds would be my favorite day. Anyway, it's on right now, well SVU is on right now, real law and order is on next. Speaking of multiple law and orders...have I mentioned lately how much I love the growing law and order franchise. I know that some people don't like the Criminal Intent, Special Victims Unit, and upcoming Trial by Jury spin-offs, but I'm looking forward to the day that I can postpone indefinately my medical school homework.

Reasons I love Law and Order:

We had our ethics part of school today and for ever ethical scenario they gave us, I could think of a law and order episode that correlated. It felt like South Park "Simpson did it!"

Nogastalgia also plays a big part. I remember watching Law and Order marathons on New Years Eve. I have tapes and tapes of old episodes somewhere at home. Hopefully my mom hasn't thrown them out like some moms do with old baseball cards. Though I suspect I won't be able to trade my tapes anytime soon.

It's one of the few shows that I can manage to watch with my whole family...well except for maybe Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. But I think that's a seperate issue...

The theme song and the scene-changing *dum dum* are addictive. For the theme-song in an electronicy webpage format check here.

As I've mentioned earlier, Law and Order helps distract me from homework.

Eyebrows.

I love baseball!

I went to a Red Sox/Orioles game at Camden Yards on Friday. I love live baseball. And, Camden Yards is beautiful. They sell Guinness right there. I'm sad the regular season's over though. On a related note the Twins are playing the Yankees on Tuesday. *sigh* Oh how I want the Twins to crush the Yankees... Unfortunately, I have a quiz Weds morning, so I don't think I can watch it all. Of course baseball on tv isn't nearly as good, so perhaps it's for the best.

Figures

One of my favorite bands, The Music, is going to be in Vermillion in Nov. As soon as I leave, we get good concerts. Jerks.

If I had some money, I'd buy you a hotdog...

I met with my preceptor yesterday, and she works at a clinic off-campus. In order to get there, I take the shuttle. While waiting to take the shuttle back, the guy approached me and asked if I had a cigarette. Obviously, the answer was no and he went away. Then he came back and started talking to me. I didn't really want to, but I had to stay put and wait for the shuttle. At one point he told me that if had some money he'd buy me a hotdog. Then he realized I was wearing my school ID (you need it to get into buildings and use the shuttle) and so now he knows my name. Then he wanted to know if I lived with my parents and if they were geographically close. He told me he'd call me, but I told him that was ok, I was too busy because of school. Finally, he realized I wasn't interested and went away. But, the point of this story isn't so much that he was a little creepy, but that the line about the hotdog is funny. I've never had anyone say that before. I guess this is a good Welcome to Baltimore.
